Rules & Regulations


  1. Participants aged 2 – 3 years old will race over 100m.
  2. Participants aged 4 – 5 years old will race over 500m.
  3. Each participant may be accompanied on foot, by only one adult who must follow the designated route.
  4. Accompanying adults must be at least 18 years of age on race day.
  5. Participants must start at their designated time. Failure to start at the correct time may lead to disqualification and the participant will not be allowed onto the racecourse.
  6. Each participant must wear a safety approved bike helmet.
  7. Each participant and accompanying adult must wear closed toe shoes. No slippers or sandals will be allowed.
  8. Only tricycles, bicycles with training wheels, and balance bikes will be allowed. Standard two wheel bikes will not be allowed.

  1. Participants must be aged between 5 – 9 years old on race day.
  2. Only road bikes, single speed bikes with free wheel and two brakes, sports bikes, touring bikes, hybrid bikes, folding bikes, Mini Velo bikes, BMX bikes, and mountain bikes will be allowed. No tricycles or bikes with training wheels will be allowed.
  3. Accompanying adults must be at least 18 years of age on race day and must ride behind their child and not impede the progress of any other rider.
  4. Adults may not follow their child on foot – an independent bicycle is required for all accompanying adults.
  5. Only one accompanying adult will be allowed for each rider.
  6. Participants must start at their designated time. Failure to start at the correct time may lead to disqualification and the participant will not be allowed onto the racecourse.
  7. Race duration will be 20 minutes. If participants have not completed the course by the 20 minute cut off, they will be escorted to the Ridersʼ Recovery Area. Despite not completing the full distance, participants will still receive their finishers medal.
  8. Participants must follow the directions of race marshals at all times.
  9. Each participant and accompanying adult must wear closed toe shoes. No slippers or sandals will be allowed.
  10. Each participant, including accompanying adults, must wear a safety approved bike helmet.

  1. Participants must be aged between 10 – 12 years old on race day.
  2. Only road bikes, single speed bikes with free wheel and two brakes, sports bikes, touring bikes, hybrid bikes, Mini Velo bikes, BMX bikes, and mountain bikes will be allowed.
  3. Participants must arrive at the start area ahead of their start time. Any participant who is late for their start will not be allowed to race.
  4. No adults will be allowed to accompany participants in the racecourse.
  5. Participants should ride on the right hand side of the road, moving to the left only to pass another rider. Once the pass is complete, return to the right side of the road.
  6. Each participant must wear closed toe shoes (cycling shoes are allowed). No slippers or sandals will be allowed.
  7. Each participant must wear a safety approved bike helmet.

  1. All participants must be ten years or older on race day.
  2. Only road bikes, single speed bikes with free wheel and two brakes, sports bikes, touring bikes, hybrid bikes, Mini Velo bikes, BMX bikes, and mountain bikes will be allowed.
  3. Participants who report to the start area 30 minutes after the start of their designated wave, may be disqualified and not allowed onto the race course.
  4. Participants must follow the designated route at all times.
  5. Participants should ride on the right hand side of the road, moving to the left only to pass another rider. Once the pass is complete, return to the right side of the road.
  6. Each participant must wear closed toe shoes. No slippers or sandals will be allowed.
  7. Each participant must wear a safety approved bike helmet.

  1. All participants must be 10 years or older on race day.
  2. Only folding bikes will be allowed.
  3. Participants must follow the designated route at all times.
  4. Participants should ride on the right hand side of the road, moving to the left only to pass another rider. Once the pass is complete, return to the right side of the road.
  5. Each participant must wear closed toe shoes. No slippers or sandals will be allowed.
  6. Each participant must wear a safety approved bike helmet.

  1. Participants must be 14 years or older on race day.
  2. Only road bikes, single speed bikes with freewheel and two brakes, sports bikes, touring bikes, hybrid bikes. Mini Velo bikes, folding bikes, and mountain bikes will be allowed.
  3. Participants must follow the designated route at all times.
  4. Participants should ride on the right hand side of the road, moving to the left only to pass another rider. Once the pass is complete, return to the right side of the road.
  5. Each participant must wear closed toe shoes. No slippers or sandals will be allowed.
  6. Each participant must wear a safety approved bike helmet.

  1. Race age will be age on the day of the event. It is the responsibility of each participant to prove their age on race day. Failure to prove age will result in disqualification.
  2. It is the responsibility of each participant to know and follow all BGC Cycle Philippines rules and event routes.
  3. Registration is strictly non transferable. Once registration is confirmed, participants cannot change event / race categories. Participations using fake ID or racing under a different name will be disqualified and banned from future BGC Cycle Philippines events.
  4. The following bikes and equipment will not be allowed for any race category:

    • Bikes with disc wheels / rim covers
    • Bikes with aero or extension bars
    • Bikes with fixed wheels with no brakes
    • Fixed gear bikes
    • Time Trial or Triathlon bikes
    • Motorized bikes
    • Unicycles
    • Scooters
    • Recumbent bikes
  5. Any participant who is found to have a bike or equipment that is listed as not allowed will be prohibited from joining any BGC Cycle Philippines event.
  6. All participants must accurately complete the information on the reverse side of their race bib. The race bib must be attached to the lower back of the cycling jersey / shirt. A cyclist in any BGC Cycle Philippines event who is found without a race bib will be asked to leave the racecourse.
  7. Participants in all events must start in their assigned waves.
  8. All participants must give way to medical and emergency vehicles on the course regardless of their race standing.
  9. Participants in all events are prohibited from using any device connected to a headset while riding. Use of a headset while riding will result in disqualification.
  10. Only disabled riders in the Community Ride may use tandem bicycles.
  11. Children will be permitted to ride in a child set with their parent or guardian in the Community Ride and the Kidsʼ Ride – Accompanying Adult with Child (5km) categories ONLY. This will be permitted only as long as the child is able to sit comfortable in a child seat with a width of twenty five (25)cm or one that with the weight specifications of her/her child seat. The event organizers will not be liable or responsible for any mishaps, injury or loss of life occur in the course of, or as a result of any child riding in a child seat during the event. Participating cyclists with child seats will the last to be in their events.
  12. Participants must at all times be aware of other riders around them. It is the responsibility of the rider overtaking another participant to ensure they can safely over take. Careless and dangerous riding will result in disqualification.
  13. Slow riders in all BGC Cycle Philippines events who fail to meet projected timings will be diverted or re-routed to a shorter route, or stopped. This is for the safety of all riders and to meet the stipulated public road re-opening times.
  14. Participants must follow the instructions and directions of all race officials, race marshals, medical, police, and traffic personnel.
  15. Full disclosure of a participantʼs medical condition(s), general health and surgical procedure within the previous 12 months is required. Medical consultation/clearance may be necessary from an attending physician prior to acceptance into events. In all cases, the final decision of medical consideration is at the discretion of the event Medical Director.
  16. Medical personnel shall have ULTIMATE and FINAL authority to remove a participant from any BGC Cycle Philippines event if the participant is judged to be physically incapable of continuing the event without risk of serious injury or death. Medical transport of any participant will result in disqualification.
  17. All medical expenses occurred during the course of any BGC Cycle Philippines event or as a result of an event, are the sole responsibility of the participant.
  18. In case of cancellation due to bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, no refund will be given.
  19. Consider the safety of yourself and other participants at all times during all
    events. Treat other participants, race officials, race marshals, medical staff,
    traffic enforcers, and spectators with respect and courtesy before, during, and
    each event.
  20. Foul, harsh, argumentative or abusive language, or other unsportsmanlike
    conduct directed at race officials, another participant, race marshals, medical
    staff, traffic enforcers, or spectators will not be tolerated before, during, or after
    any BGC Cycle Philippines event and will result in disqualification.
  21. BGC Cycle Philippines reserves the right to make rule changes at any time
    provided all participants are notified through the event website prior to the
    event.
  22. BGC Cycle Philippines reserves the right to change the course route or
    distances to ensure the safety of all participants.
  23. The event organizer reserves the right to use any photographs or video footage
    of participants for commercial advertising or promotional purposes.
  24. The race organizer will not accept any liability for loss or damage to any
    participantʼs property or belongings deposited at the Baggage Storage area.
    The organizer reserves the right to security check any item or baggage
    deposited.
